    DAILYKENN.com -- Crenshanda Williams, 44, will spend ten days in jail and 18 months on probation. Reports say she hung up on thousands of 911 callers.

    A former Houston 911 operator who hung up on thousands of people including calls for help during robberies and homicides will spend 10 days in jail and 18 months on probation.

    hαɾɾιs County jurors on Wednesday found Crenshanda Williams, 44, guilty of interference with emergency telephone calls.

    Williams spent a year and a half taking 911 calls at the Houston Emergency Center until she was caught in August 2016 and fired by the city. A supervisor who oversaw Williams was ultimately also placed on a year of internal probation, officials said at the time.

    • Her immediate supervisor and the person who hired her should be looked into also.  Let's hope this is just one bad egg.

    This is dereliction of duty, and she should have received a stiffer sentence.

    • I was totally astounded when I first saw this story on the Internet a few days ago.  !0 days ----just 10 days!!!!!!!!!!!  Imagine if this had been a white woman.  What exactly were the consequences suffered by the people involved in all those calls she hung up on?  Did people die?  What exactly were the consequences?!  Fairly hard to imagine!
