  • I met a man who was in the seminary with you.  His name is Joseph McKenzie.

I suppose that is one way to interpret it.

The man was visiting Mt. St. Michael (Spokane WA), and we dined together a couple of times.  I learned he went to seminary in MN, so I asked if he knew Chant.

  • Yes, I was friends with Joseph. We used to be part of the "clique" that didn't enjoy sports, but rather chose to go for walks during recreation times. There were several of us.

There was no "right thing" to do during recreation, so you got to choose your mode of physical exercise. I was never into sports -- neither was my dad (which explains a lot).

  •   I wonder why they didn't ordain sincere men like you and gladius but allow so many bad and immoral ones to made priests, bishop and cardinals instead. I guess it is because you two were relentless and zealous for your faith, while they prefered to have liberal priests.

The SSPX seminary is very rigorous.

  • Hey, is that Mr. Z_______ down on the end of the row from you, Matthew?   Did you know Fr. Fortin before he was ordained?  I have wondered where he is stationed now.

Spouse, the SSPX insist that the only way to know if one has a vocation to the priesthood is to be in the seminary.  They do not consider it a fault at all if someone realises they don't have a vocation, even if they are sad to lose a good man.

Nor was I or my dad, though later I got into weight lifting a bit, but have slacked off and put on a few...

The SSPX doesn't prefer liberal priests, in fact they wouldn't ordain liberal priests.
