I have been getting the Catholic Family News for a few years and browse through the headlines and usually find a lot of good and interesting things to read.
In the most recent edition, I see an article called "Meditations on The Spiritual Exercises" which contains a lot of good information but towards the end, includes a quote from Benedict XVI on the subject which I'm not happy about.
Of all the writings from all the saints, they had to choose something that was said by Benedict XVI who probably did more to destroy the Catholic church than anyone else in history.... and to this day, Benedict XVI is alive and unrepentant.
Why is the CFN allowing now allowing this? This reminds me of when I went to Mass at the Society of Saint Peter and the priest kept quoting from Benedict and JP2 like they were authorities on tradition catholicism.
This is the sneaky way that the devil works to slowly get people to accept crappy V2 and it's unfortunately, it's working because not many people seem to care.

Bilbo,
You're onto something for sure.
For years CFN has had a questionable editorial agenda and an unduly strong influence over the traditional movement.
For example, the SSPX became their darling shortly after the Bp. Williamson house arrest in Wimbledon in 2010.
But with the deaths of both John Vennari and Father Gruner, who is setting the editorial opinions now?
There's been a "rumor" that the SSPX is controlling the newspaper, but this has yet to be confirmed.
Definitely, they have the financial resources and motivation to do it.

Why is this surprising? Haven't they always considered Benedict XVI different than the others?
