  • Hey everyone, I was wondering if anybody here knows of good Catholic apologetics, especially for Muslim people. I have a muslim friend who I talk to about religion, and I just want some good, clear, logical explanations as to why the Catholic Faith is the Truth. It would be good for me too because I always find myself tongue tied when I try to explain my Faith.

    Thank you in advance :)

I have a very easy and effective way to approach Muslims. First ask them what they think of Jesus. They typically respond with things like, "He was a good man, a peaceful man, a good teacher, a good prophet", etc.

The response to this is to remind them that Jesus clearly said he was God in Scripture. If this is not true, then Jesus is NOT a good man, teacher or profit, but instead He would be the biggest deceiver in the history of humanity. So the Muslim is suddenly faced with the fact that either Jesus is God, or he is the biggest deceiver in history. This blows their minds!

I once asked this question in a Muslim forum, and all the Muslims fell silent. Finally one had the nerve to reply back, and stated that all the places in Scripture where Jesus said He was God, have been doctored!

As for showing the Catholic faith is the true faith to a Muslim, have them explain the Incorruptibles and miracle of the sun at Fatima. Of course it will stump them because these Catholic miracles even stump Catholics!

Then ask him to give you an example of a first-class miracle as astounding in Islam. There are none of course. Hopefully this will get him to think!

  • The following is from 'The Whole Truth about Fatima'. It might interest your friend to know this mohammedan aspect of that history.

“... if we can believe the words of an ancient ballad, Fatima owes its clearly Arabic name to an episode in the reconquest of Portugal which took place in this era. Fatima, the daughter of a powerful Moslem prince of Alcacer do Sal, was captured by a Crusader, Gonçalo Hermingues. When the Christian knight asked for her hand in marriage, she converted and was baptized under the name Oureana, from which the village of Ourem took its name. But the beautiful princess died young, and Don Gonçalo, in his distress, gave his life to God in the Cistercian abbey of Alcobaca. Not long after, the abbey founded a small priory in the neighboring mountains; Brother Gonçalo was sent there and took with him the remains of his dear Fatima. The place took and kept her name.”
What return shall I make to the Lord for all the things that He hath given unto me?
