What you mentioned is definitely not the traditional form of Catholic party, though I guess that it is often common in those who are traditional Catholic in attendance but don't take it home with them...
You asked for an example of a wedding party. So, I will give a few thoughts as to what I would prefer myself . Yet I can not speak for everyone else... :-)
Rather than lots of beer, hard liquors and such, there would be wine or champagne in small doses.
If there was dancing it would be more like line-dancing or square dancing rather than the modern hip-hop.
The music would be loud enough to hear but not blaring. And the music would be uplifting, peaceful, cheerful and edifying rather than music with a lot of a beat and synthetics. If possible having friends play live instrumental compositions would be ideal.
And rather than being a late night party, it would end by early-mid evening.
Once again... These are just my thought. And since many SSPX groups are very worldly, most of them would not agree with anything I have written.
