  •   After discusions about whether someone man or a woman, feeneyite or not, catholic or a protestant troll, I think it is good if we have a more detailed mamber profile. (if ChantCd has time or it and thinks it is good)
      I suggest that it include:
Gender (and not sex, since experince shows that people can give ridiculous answer when you use that word!)

    Vocation
    religion
    atitude toward catholicism

I know that there is already a thread for introducing ourselves, but most members haven't used that thread at all.

  • I had thought before of bringing this sort of issue up before but had not gotten around to it. It helps when you know the age and gender of the person with whom you communicate. Plus, it also helps if the religion and attitude toward Catholicism are known.

  • Any attempt to force people to share things about themselves they don't want to share is, IMO, radically opposed to Matthew's overall spirit in running this site.

These things all come out in the wash when they post their thoughts publicly.

IMO, trying to get people to tell you things they do not want to is a waste of time.  At best, you can just let them know you are aware that they are clearly refraining from being open for less-than-noble reasons.  Godspeed.  Let this issue be for now.
