  • I want to start a fun thread (based on a post in The Resistance forum).  It would be a poll where people could vote for whom they would select as the next pope (were they given a vote in the Conclave.

This thread is for taking nominations.

    clearly we should have

    +Williamson
    +Faure
    +Fellay
    +Tissier
    +Gallaretta

    I also nominate Father Chazal.

I'm sure that we'll get a number of the SV bishops / priests also.

    +Sanborn
    +Kelly
    Father Jenkins
    +Dolan
    Father Cekada
    +Santay

So please nominate other candidates.  Please no joke candidates (like Bawden for instance).  Serious NO candidates will also be accepted -- e.g. +Athanasius Schneider, +Raymond Burke, etc.

His Lenten Mission on the Four Last Things is bookmarked, as my favorite subject of contemplation.
    The Four Last Things

Considering his conversion, path to tradition, and his fidelity to the Faith, an excellent nomination.

Well, you'd covered pretty much all the nominees I'd have thought of (and at least one - Fr. Cekada - who wouldn't be within a ten mile radius of my list), so I decided to go with my gut, to some degree.

Fr. Relyea is a former FFI priest who, last I heard, now works mainly in bringing the TLM to prisons. He's a fellow New Yorker, which gives me a personal affection for him. But more importantly, he's an excellent preacher - particularly against the errors of religious liberty and ecuмenism. I think that, combined with his decidedly unpolished and direct manner of delivery, make him a perfect antidote to the two-faced, polished circuмlocutors and academic liars we've had to endure for over half a century now. The fact that he's a Franciscan also helps, as the name and image of the Great Saint of Assisi have never been so publicly abused and misused as they have under the reign of this man who has arrogated that blessed name to himself.

    Here's one of his sermons:

  • I think "Novus Ordo" and "serious" are a contradiction in terms.

Raymond Burke accepted a trans-gendered man to woman as a "nun" while in WI.   He also covered up clerical sex abuse while in La Crosse, WI

    He is scuм.

In that case, don't vote for him.   :roll-laugh1:

    ...

... a good addition to the Papabili.  I hadn't heard of him before.

Any priest who notices that most Traditional Catholics don't believe in EENS can't be all that bad.

In fact, he'd be one of the very few who recognizes the core doctrinal problems involved.

Every Catholic should listen to this sermon; it may have just won my vote.

I'm surprised that I haven't heard of him before.

Me too, Ladislaus. BTNYC posted a link to a sermon on Audio Sancto last year and in exploration I discovered Fr. Relyea.

Btw, Audio Sancto is divesting their sermons.  If one would like to to download their archives (8 years), July 31st is the deadline.

Thank you for the link; it's great listening material.  He's like a Traditional Corapi.
