  • Hams will know the significance of the number 7300 -- it's one of the most popular radios today. Probably one of the best "bang for the buck" there is.
    Another popular number is "991".

I just wanted to point out, for those who might not know, that years ago I purged the CathInfo Members database of many inactive members. I even deleted a few accounts of members who had 10 posts or less. I was trying to streamline the database, make the site run a bit faster, when I was trying to run the site on "shared hosting" -- you know, the average $10/month hosting account. It was a lost cause, but I held on for a couple more years. I also used to regularly purge the private message database, as well as the Likes/Dislikes database. Those measures merely delayed the inevitable -- CI is now hosted on its own server.

Anyhow, a few things you must know if you want to compare CathInfo to other forums:

    1. I purged the database of no small number of members -- many hundreds, as many as a couple thousand.
    2. The current software does NOT count banned members as part of the "Total Members" figure.

So that 4439 figure quoted by the software does NOT include any banned members. The latest member is #7300. The first CathInfo member was #1. You do the math.

All I'm saying is when making an apples to apples comparison between two forums, you need to make sure you're looking at the same numbers. If one forum deleted a bunch of old users AND doesn't count banned members, while the other forum did NO trimming and counts banned members, you're not going to get a fair comparison. Right?
    Want to say "thank you"?
