  • For instance, canon law states that nobody should be forced or manipulated, in any kind of way, into becoming a priest. So if someone was vindictive enough to do that, knowing that it was against canon law, would they go to hell for doing so? Would it not be the same sin as disobeying God? Keep in mind that obedience to God is required for salvation.

    I'm not sure what you are getting at. How do we know what the will of God is?

  • The manipulator would be in danger of going to hell if Canon Law was intentionally broken with full knowledge and consent.  Would he go to hell?  That depends on repentance on the part of the transgressor.  We don't know who is in hell and who is not with absolute certainty.  We do know who is in heaven (the beatified and canonized Saints) along with those unknown multitude who died in a state of sanctifying grace.  

    So to answer your question, yes, the transgressor would be in danger of going to hell if the sin is not repented.
