That hardly looks like the thing that was summoned out of the ether and destroyed the Montauk chair and the entire laboratory at the site of "the Montauk project"...

Remember that?

Anyhow, it must be a different kind of "Montauk monster"

I wouldn't like to bump into it while swimming! However, I imagine when people first saw images of the deep sea predators they thought they were either fake or devilish!

The closest animal I could think of that it looks like would be a pig... but if you look at pigs... tail's too long, and the skeletal structure is different, and this thing's more of a carnivore. Weird...

But then, we know that there are messed up scientists out there having fun playing mad scientist with genetic science and that sort of thing. If we already more or less know for certain that people out there are mixing human DNA with that of animals, something like this is not very shocking after all.

But that'd be my best guess.
