  • For your amusement, I found this recent list of no-noes over at CAF tonight.  They came up with it just this October.

    Quote
Negative and rude comments toward CAF members, clergy (deacons, priests and bishops) or toward religious and religious orders are banned.

Everyone, online and offline, deserves to be spoken to and about respectfully. However, some posters seem to feel that clergy and religious are fair game.

If you have an issue with them, take it up in private, not on this forum or any of our forums.

You may cite something from another source, if you are not using it to further an agenda. Agenda posting is not allowed.

If we deem that you are disrespectful to our clergy and religious, you will receive an infraction or even a ban.

Proof what you write before you post.

You may not make disparaging remarks about:

    Vatican II
Clergy (deacons, priests and bishops) of any group
Religious (brothers, sisters, and nuns) of any order or congregation
Lawful actions and disciiplines by the Church including the historical excommunication of the SSPX. It happened. Rome explained why it happened. End of story. Rome did not put it out there for debate by the faithful.
Another poster or his/her ideas. You can disagree. You cannot attack, insult, ridicule or dismiss as unimportant. His opinion is as important to him as your opinion is to you.
    Parishes, pastors, civil leaders.
Other religions -- if you're unsure how to speak in public about other faiths, look at the Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI and Pope Francis. They are fraternal, polite, and intellectual in discussing religious differences.
Avoid arguments that will lead to violations of charity. You don't have to like what you read and others do not have to like what you post. But you must be civil toward each other and those who are not on the forum.

Be careful when discussing disputes between clergy. Members will be cited for ad hominem or uncharitable posts or links to blogs that violate CAF rules.

As Fr. Gorndon said in a recent post, "Sometimes we can think that we know more than we do and that leads us to make assumptions which could be incorrect. While having questions and seeking answers, we still need to trust that the Holy Spirit is who is guiding the Church. Put your mind at ease and trust in God to guide His Church."

    Smug much?

  • Catholic Answers is anything but.
For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. (Matthew 24:24)

  • It doesn't sound like there's anything to talk about over at CAF.

That is, nothing to talk about except the wonderfulness of all things Conciliar.  I wonder how it is to live in a fantasy world.  Stubborn, could you tell us?

Yes, why didn't I think of it?  CAF.  Conciliar Answers Forum!

Yes, look to Benedict XVI and Francis, they have interpreted Vatican II correctly!  These are just mere religious "differences".

  • Actually it is a good thing because it means Catholics are waking up and asking the right the questions. CAF wouldn't need to set  new rules if people were just blindly following Vatican II. The internet has made people more aware of what is going on in the world.  Many Catholics never even heard of the SPPX until the internet.

    Not sure what you mean.

What were you doing while I was among those stubborn Catholics who was raised to refuse to compromise the true faith, who helped preserve the true faith for you and your family and all of us who corresponded to grace to seek the true faith?

Fantasy? You have no idea. No idea at all.

  • Never mind, it was a stupid thing for me to say. We all sacrifice what we must, sometimes that's the price we must pay to keep the faith and we should do it willingly, perhaps even look forward to it no matter what is required.

I put my birth date in my profile, I'm an old timer at 55.

I hadn't noticed you had it there.

Old timer at 55? Not really I think. That's relatively not that old.

I always thought you were in the late 60's or 70's.

So you didn't actually grow up in the pre-V2 environment.

  • I grew up pretty much right with the revolution but was raised in the pre-V2 environment.

You are right there with me (who is 54).  The revolution in Seattle had begun even before Vatican 2 as my earliest memory of the Mass was the priest using a free-standing Cranmer's table and the All-English service.

  • CAF has excommunicated itself by protecting sodomist clergy.

Laramie, isn't this the same drivel that CAF has always maintained is their policy?  It just looks very familiar:
    Clergy = live saints, impeccable

  • CAF wouldn't even take my registration. That OP piece means that nothing but cheerleading for that Council and New Church, as well as attacks on Tradition, will be allowed. It's also has a number of OCD people with vast post counts of frankly weird and repetitive stuff.

Conciliarists Against the Faith is CAF.
