Have you thought of making a string rosary? You can buy kits from this site:
http://www.olrm.org (Our Lady's Rosary Makers in Louisville, Kentucky) or you can buy nicer beads to make a Rosary of your choosing. They sell the string, crucifixes and centerpieces and lots of different beads. We've made very nice Rosaries and given them as Christmas gifts.
They have an inexpensive kit to make 50 mission rosaries for just $6.90. These are the cheaper rosaries made of string and plastic beads and come in lots of colors. I think that the cost of this kit is supplemented and so they ask that you give the rosaries away - not sell them, but you can sell the other rosaries that you make from the regular supplies. They are easy to make. You just need to learn to tie the knots that go on each side of the Our Fathers. I've also seen rosaries made with just a regular knot between the beads. This is a great apostolic work that even children can learn. We've given these rosaries to our priests so they can give them out.
The kit comes with a little plastic tool to make the knots, but we like to use a little metal tool that we've had for years. It was made from the spoke of an old umbrella. If you get really good at making the nicer knots, you can even make a Rosary completely of string with knots for the beads.
If you want to buy a ready made rosary made of either chain or string, try the CMRI Sisters' store at
http://www.miqcenter.comI just looked and they don't have any string rosaries on their site, but if you contact them directly, I imagine they could find a nice one for you from their store. They have lots of things in their store that are not on the website. Be sure to also order a little case for carrying the Rosary or the little boxes from Jєωelry can be used.
