  • I have a small collection of statues of the IOP that I have rescued over the decades. A few of them  have a dime taped on the bottom. Since they were acquired at diverse places and times, I think this must be a custom of some sort, but I am not familiar with it. I was hoping someone could enlighten me. Thanks. 1MT

  • I have heard it said that if you have a statue of the Infant of Prague, then you will never lack money.
But about the coins I don't know.
    Sounds superstitious to me.

  • There was a Statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague in my house that was smashed to pieces. There is a Pieta in my house that was decapitated. there were two Celtic Crosses that were smashed to pieces. The heart of one is in my room, and my brother has one in his house which he tried to put back together. There is a statue of the Blessed Mother that was broken, we have a picture of Saint Gemma Galgani which was bent but not broken [It is very valuable], we have a Rosary that crumbled under the pressure of our prayers, we are trying to hold on, good Saint Matthew. We need your prayers. We have good neighbors. I try to hold my candle for an hour in the evening. Obedience is the way for me right now, but I am bold. I am still a little boy.
    R.I.P.
Please pray for the repose of my soul.

  • I will say a Rosary for you tonight, Matto.

Is your screen name Matto for St Matthew or has it some other meaning?

  • My name is Matthew, so the "Matt" is short for my name, and also for Saint Matthew. And the "o" is the first letter of my last name. The "o" could also stand in for 0 as that was my nick name at one time, "zero".

  • Oh! That's all right then, Matthew O.
I am glad you didn't call yourself zero.
DO you know that "Matto" is Italian for "Crazy" in English?

    Talk about a disrailment!
