Since I have a slow conection at home, I went to use an ADSL one in a cofee net in our university, in order to use youtube. I was watching the above mentioned movie, when I saw a scence in which many people were gathered around St. Francis, men, women, religious, single, married etc .Then the man playing the role of the saint, took off all his garments and showed his ****** to both those people and the poor viewers.
Our university is an islamic one, and watching bad movies is strictly forbidden. Now those who may have seen me perhaps thought that I was watching porn. :really-mad2:
Now two questions:
1-Did St. Francis really do that???????
2-Does the catholic chuch allow her children to make such movies?????

If it was us doing such a thing, we would be guilty of mortal sin and scandalizing others. But because he was a St. Francis it was OK for him to do so.(at least nobody reprimanded him and the church doesn't speak of this incident as sth disgusting)

The story goes like this...

St. Francis after his conversion wanted to live for poverty. In his love of poverty he was giving away his father's clothes to the poor. When the father discovered this he went to the clerics to reprimand his son (Francis) for taking his things.

When he was approached by the bishop (I believe it was the bishop) he told Francis that he could no longer give away his father's clothes. St. Francis responded by giving everything, and that included the clothes on his back by this father, to the bishop and walked away nude. Although, St. Francis was wearing a hairshirt and was not exposed.

When leaving the bishop he said "I have no father except my Father in Heaven" referring to the fact that if his father could not give to Lady Poverty he would only seek God alone.

Also, Brother Sun Sister Moon is a terrible movie to depict St. Francis. It is not a good movie to watch, and although the producer is Catholic that does not mean it is good for Catholics to watch.
