I'm glad she was born on such a great feast day -- the 3rd Glorious Mystery AND the 5th Glorious Mystery!

This year May 31st, the feast of the Queenship of Mary, happened to fall on Pentecost Sunday, the 3rd greatest feast in the Liturgical Year, after Easter and Christmas (in that order). Pentecost is the birthday of the Church.

We all know who to thank that everything went well today! Jennifer put forth her best effort, so did the midwives, and many people (in heaven and earth) were praying for us -- so the outcome was good.

I never like to "exclude" one or the other --

For example, my son Dominic was named after St. Dominic de Guzman (founder of the Dominicans), but I wouldn't want to eliminate the connection to St. Dominic Savio, who is a great role model for boys (he died before he committed a single mortal sin -- his motto was "death rather than sin")

Here are a couple pictures -- the one on the top is Grandma and Bridget -- I know she doesn't have any gray hair, but she IS in her 50's. I know for a fact she doesn't use any artificial coloring. Apparently my wife won't be getting much gray hair either (that's ok, I'll make up for it -- premature graying runs in my family)

Almost -- we went to a birth center. It was a great experience.

We wanted to be close to a hospital -- just in case. Besides the fact we live in a rural area, the closest hospital to us is not one that we'd like to check into.

Jennifer had 2 previous c-sections, so there was a bit more risk involved.
