  • Newly married bride in Canada dies while drowning in her own wedding gown that she was intentionally defacing in a river as part of this new trend in weddings for brides to "trash the dress" as part of some kind of sick, twisted memorial. And she paid for it with her life. Whatever is going on in the minds of our young women today? Why in the world would they want to destroy and defile the very thing that symbolizes the purity and sanctity of the marriage bond and the greatest day in their life? What happened to preserving the wedding gown in safekeeping as a memorial or being passed down to a daughter or even grand-daughter for their wedding day or a family heirloom and keepsake?

    I believe this is where this sick and perverted society is down to these days, "trash the dress" is nothing more than defiling the marriage sacrament and making a mockery of matrimony just like their doing with the legalization of " queer marriages".  :rolleyes:

    They ought to just call it " trash the marriage" because it just serves to be another nail in the coffin in the sacrament of Matrimony......some new "trend" eh?

    Quebec bride Maria Pantazopoulos drowned during ‘trash the dress’ photo shoot

    The bride who died during a photo shoot in Quebec last week when her wedding dress became heavily soaked in a river, dragging her into the water and causing her to drown, was participating in growing trend called “trash the dress.”

    Maria Pantazopoulos, 30, had married in June and wanted to immortalize her wedding dress with Friday’s photo shoot, family friend Leeza Pousoulidis told the Montreal Gazette.

    “Trash the dress” is a style of post-wedding photography that features the bride in her dress in an unconventional setting, often using water or other environmental factors that effectively ruin the garment.

    “She’s a really fun girl, and she just didn’t want her wedding dress sitting in a box in the closet,” Pousoulidis told The Gazette. “She said ‘I want to have fun with my wedding dress. I want to have great pictures and memories of me in my wedding dress.’”

    Wedding photographer Louis Pagakis was taking photos of Pantazopoulos in the Ouareau River in Rawdon, 75 kilometres northeast of Montreal, when the weight of her dress pulled her into the current.

    “She had her wedding dress on and she said, ‘take some pictures of me while I swim a little bit in the lake,’ she went in and her dress got heavy, I tried everything I could to save her,” Pagakis told CTV Montreal.

    “I jumped in, I was screaming and yelling, we tried our best.”

    Two police officers arrived on scene and jumped into the water but could not find her. A scuba diver who heard about the accident arrived on scene and found her body two hours later. Pantazopoulos was a real estate agent and had just bought a house in Laval.

    Her colleagues were devastated by the news of her death.

    “She was really well liked by everyone here,” real estate agent Johanne Grenier told the Gazette. “For us, today is a really sad day.

  • I can't believe a beautiful, so-called "educated" woman would do a stupid thing like this just to take part in some demented "trend" to ruin her wedding gown, which these days, probably cost thousands. This just reminds me how  gullible women are these days and the need to be followers in any stupid trend that comes down the pike in order to act "crazy" or be part of something, no matter how ridiculous it is.

    What a damn shame, may God have mercy on this gorgeous soul;
