  • But isn't Douay Rheims (drbo.org) the one used in the TLM?

I am glad that it is your favourite Bible, DR. It seems I made a good purchase. The last Bible I bought was a disaster. It was supposed to be the Vulgate, but a few months after I bought it I discovered that it was not really the Vulgate at all but a new translation, I think done by some Germans in the sixties, that they call the Vulgate so people would read it instead of the real Vulgate (there is a third "Vulgate" as well).

Was it the Nova Vulgata? Just for factual knowledge, the Clementine Vulgate is not entirely identical to St. Jerome's Vulgate. For instance the CV contains the Comma Johanneum, while SJV does not.
    Pray for me, always.

  • Carraffa, it was not the Nova Vulgata. There was another translation done by a group of people based in Germany which is the one I own.
    R.I.P.
Please pray for the repose of my soul.
