Sorry but it is Not True that Clement was elected because of Philips manipulation. It is also untrue that the latter was after Templar wealth.  :fryingpan:

There are numerous sources on KT.

Barber -- Knights Templar

Menache-- Clement V

Strayer-- Philip IV

I would recommend Fr Parsons essay which I believe is in Vol 3 or 4 Of his Studies In Church history. I have not read HK Manns vol 18 but I think he defends Boniface-- who was protecting Templars.

Fr's Laux and Radecki have revolted against the Pope by claiming the KT were set up or innocent.


This is not so as per the following 10 Infallible Bulls( which have never been rescinded) Of Clement V
