  • A Florida woman has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a lottery millionaire whose body was found buried under fresh concrete, authorities said Friday night.

Dorice Donegan Moore, 37, was arrested last week on charges of accessory after the fact regarding a first-degree murder in the death of Abraham Shakespeare, 43, said Hillsborough County Sheriff David Gee. She remains in the Hillsborough County Jail, he said.

Moore befriended Shakespeare after he won a $31 million Florida lottery prize in 2006 and was named a person of interest in the case after Shakespeare disappeared, authorities said.

Before her arrest, Moore proclaimed her innocence during a tearful, impromptu news conference outside her home. She said she was planning to help Shakespeare write a book about the challenges of winning millions and that she was helping him manage the money.

"Abraham had a life of drama because of the money," she told CNN affiliate WTSP. "The money was like a curse to him. And now it has become a curse to me."

Moore might have committed fraud to obtain parts of Shakespeare's fortune, and she bought lime to deal with his body and was trying to find someone to move the corpse to another location, Gee said at the time of her arrest.

Shakespeare was killed on April 6 or April 7, and Moore has admitted trying to convince Shakespeare's family members that he was still alive, Gee said.

Deputies found Shakespeare's body outside a home in Plant City in late January after receiving a tip from an associate of Moore, Gee said.

The investigation is continuing, Gee said.

  • How did a black man get the last name Shakespeare? He doesn't seem to be related to the Bard.

I think it's "cute" how blacks used to name their kids after famous personages, so they would have a better shot at success in life.

    George Washington Carver
    Martin Luther King
    etc.

I'm sure "Abraham" is named after Abraham Lincoln as well. Unless they're Jєωιѕн?

  • A lot of blacks like to believe in Afrocentrism, the belief that blacks are responsible for all the advancements in the world and that all great historical persons were "actually black."

    Here's an example of this:

Note the list of historical figures he claims were "actually black." It includes William Shakespeare, George III of England, the Vikings, and, of course, Jesus Christ.

Here's another video in which they claim that the Irish "stole Ireland from black people" and that "St. Patrick was black" (note: there is some foul language):

The group in the above videos call themselves "Black Hebrew Israelites." They like to believe that they are the descendants of the lost tribes of Israel and that the "white devil" is descended from the Edomites. The way I see it is that Afrocentrism is nothing more than a consoling delusion for them because they just can't accept the fact that throughout 6000 years of history, their race has accomplished very little compared to other races.

  • Robbie Shakespeare, on the right behind Peter Tosh, is one of reggae music's most famous bass guitar players.

I think many American blacks took the surnames of their owners' families, also. You will almost never find a black person with a Polish, Greek, or Swedish last name, for example. Slavery in the U.S. was mostly a WASP phenomenon, with some French ancestry families in Louisiana also involved.

The Rastafarian religion is based on this whole concept: the ancient Egyptians were black; the real Jєωs were Ethiopians; Jesus and the Apostles were black; the Bible was a black work but half of it was removed by the Catholic Church so the world wouldn't know the truth; blacks in America are the Twelve Tribes in Babylonian Exile; Jesus Christ lives continuously on Earth as a black man; whites are devils, etc.

Mormon stupidity has a similar twist: they believe that the English are one of the "Twelve Lost Tribes" and that so are the Mayans. (Anyone can see the obvious physical resemblance!) The Spaniards were the enemies of both those tribes of God's Chosen People, proving beyond doubt that the Catholic Church is of the Devil.

We have some of these deluded "Black Hebrew Israelites" in downtown Houston, preaching by the Metro Rail tracks. They can be quite nasty and often have ties to organized criminal gangs. They are listed as a "hate group" by the SPLC:

There are a few African-American groups on their watch list and this is one.
