If, as Luther said, I need no supernatural society such as the Catholic Church to mediate between me and my God for my eternal needs, such as justification and salvation, why should I need any natural society for any of my lesser needs? I, who deal directly with God, stand on my own!

Thank you, obscurus, for pin pointing the problem for me via Bishop Williamson.  I didn't know Luther said that, but I see the thinking all around me, which is why I have been trying to tell people we ARE our brother's keepers.  satan's people run rampant over us.  Why?  They are united and we are not.  They accomplish what they set out to do, while we flounder in disagreements.  Our position now is contrary to our mandate.  This is the ultimate catastrophe of vatican 2.
