Sharing in case anyone wanted to hear it - this sermon was provided by Bishop Daniel Dolan during his Pontifical Requiem High Mass for Rev. Joseph F. Collins at St. Gertrude the Great on 5/15/19.  Simply beautiful. It is apparent this priest was loved by many and held in very high esteem - especially his brother priests.  I believe there is a recording of the webcast on sgg.org as well.

Did he take the opportunity to excoriate Father Collins' executor?   :laugh1:

At a certain point, Bishop Dolan refers to his "brothers" in the CMRI.

I had thought there was some (not sure what word to use) "rivalry/opposition" between the CMRI and Dolan/Cekada/SGG.

Was I wrong about that, or was Bishop Dolan just being conciliatory on this particular occasion?

You were wrong.  The CMRI and Bishop Dolan/Fr. Cekada do have some disagreements on a few matters, but they do not oppose each other nor is there, as far as I know, a "rivalry".  Bishop Pivarunas as spoken well of both men at the CMRI's Fatima Conferences.  It is true, however, that the two groups don't generally talk about the other.
