  • Does anyone know anything about this chapel?  And Bishop Bruno?

The website says he was made a Bishop by +Patrick Taylor, who was made one by +Thuc.  +Bruno has only been at the SC chapel for 10 years.  It sounds like they did a bunch of digging but ive never heard of Bishop Patrick Taylor.  Is Bishop Bruno legit?  It does not sound like they are indult but independent.  Thanks in advance for any info.

  • I knew a sedevacantist priest once who was ordained by him and that he was Thuc line. The priest is Fr Matthias Heppel. If you looked him up you might be able to find more info on Bishop Bruno.
Please disregard everything I have said; I have tended to speak before fact checking.

  • From all indications, Bishop Bruno is sedevacantist.  He serves two chapels, his home chapel in Summerville (Charleston) and another chapel in Columbia, SC.

  • I've met Bishop Bruno and like him.

Here's some background to his SC chapel: Link

He holds the "vacant seat" to be a personal opinion.

He doesn't believe in "implicit baptisms", like some other trad cults.
But that St. Patrick raised a man from the grave, expressly to be Baptized by water, so his soul could get into Heaven.

"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

  • Did he attend a seminary? If so, which one? How old is he?
For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul?

  • Bishop Bruno, was born in 1970.
He attended seminary for about six months at CMRI's Mater Dei Seminary in Omaha, NE in 1996.
After that he studied under an older priest, named Fr. M. Nicholas Luna (he was ordained in 1957).
Bishop Bruno was ordained on January 6, 2001 by Archbishop James Edward Bostwick, O.C.C.A.
On September 9, 2007 Bishop Bruno was consecrated by Bishop Jason Spadafore.
Later on November 14, 2017 he received conditional consecration from Bishop Patrick Taylor, S.V.M..

  • So, based on the information provided in this thread, Bruno is:

    1) Sedevacantist

    2) Feeneyite

    3) Schismatic (receiving ordination from schismatic Old Catholic Church)

    4) Questionble priestly ordination from Old Catholic "bishop" (?)

    5) Questionable consecration by Spadafore (valid?), then by Taylor (valid?)

    6) Practically no seminary formation.

    Where do I sign up??

  • Is this man not automatically excommunicated? He received “orders” from a non Catholic.

Weren't the masonic Cardinal Lienart's priestly ordinations invalid?  From his own mouth.

In this case, and according to Matthew, +ABL received his Orders only when he was consecrated Bishop.

If that's so, why is a Thuc line Bishop's consecration invalid?

And if you condemn and label (1) water Baptism as "Feeneyism",  then are the (4) baptisms as +ABL taught, including Rahner's implicit baptism of non Catholics (the good Hindu, Muslim and Jєω) called Lefebvreism ?

We're just trying to understand your theology
