  • my 9 year old cousin made First Communion in May but I don't think it took

her family still goes to church regularly though

she was given a kit by her parish with things like a junior missal and Rosary beads

the traditional Crucifix I gave her didn't impress her much, not sure if it got hung up

she did ask what INRI meant

I have a kids' book about Fatima from my childhood but I don't know where it is

was thinking of explaining Fatima as an incentive to get Rosaries prayed

when I was her age this old guy wanted to scare me

so he told me about Mary taking the kids to see Hell

and told me about Three Days of Darkness

thinking that may be way to go

was there for 4th and she got violent with me and pulled back on my chair so that I fell backwards onto ground

was a cheap plastic lawn chair so wasn't hard

    she didn't get punished though

    I have to replace chair

  • my 9 year old (then 8) cousin's First Communion was not like that at all

was a cramped small church to begin with

    almost standing room only

    people yakked before/after/during Mass

homilist was decent for NO priest though

explained the Catholic teachings concerning Communion

also asked people who stopped going to Mass to consider going again
