This is news to many young traditionals. To some of us, this is old news. We've known about it for decades already.
Yes, to
some of you. But I suspect that many of us oldsters who were young-uns when we were
confirmed in the South before or during Vatican II knew practically nothing about
Bernadin. The news would simply
not have been propagated, at least to those of us presumed to have overly tender ears.
Not yet mentioned in this
thread is Abp./Card. Bernadin's cooperation in
Chicago--including providing financial grants--with the
Protestant "
community organizer"
Barack Hussein Obama. Unflattering rumors about the Kenyan, which claim that he indulges in,
ummm, unconventional sɛҳuąƖity, have never been convincingly disproven. So in retrospect, a reader might readily wonder whether they met in a formal setting, e.g., a visit to the archdiocesan office, or in an informal seting, e.g., somewhere in Chicago that catered to what is now the "
rainbow" crowd.
