On a personal note, we've been praying for years in our daily Rosary that we would be prepared for whatever happens to the world.

A couple months ago, someone at my church told me about the recent Fatima Crusader (which I normally don't read), and shortly after that another friend got me into Permaculture (that wasn't his aim, either -- he was just taking an online course in Permaculture, and for some reason I got into it!)

Obviously Permaculture is the best kind of "prepping", as it is required to grow things in my climate. I need various equipment, techniques and materials to be able to grow things in high wind, long droughts, and horrible clay soil. Permaculture has given me new hope that my land could be made productive after all. If Sepp Holzer can grow pumpkins and lemons in the Alps, I'm sure I could grow stuff around here.

So the last couple months I've been paying an ounce of attention to getting prepared. Things that have been on my list for years (like rainbarrels) have finally been crossed off.

This doesn't prove anything of course, but the way things have come about is very interesting to me, at least.

I'm not in 100% agreement with your "mathematical" approach to the inevitable collapse, Matthew.  They make the numbers up and can make them say or do whatever they want.

I believe, though, that war looms because we're likely closing in on the end of that 100-year (or 75-year) reign of Satan.  I believe that Satan will use a horrific war as a final salvo, as a way to "harvest" all the souls he's corrupted.  With as corrupt and sinful and faithless as the world has become, 99.9% of all the souls killed in a war would go to hell.

What happens when the amount of money/debt in existence goes parabolic?
Remember, 10% more debt/money every year is not a straight line, but a parabolic curve.

When the graph starts to go parabolic (vertical), that's when you have hyperinflation. All debt-based fiat currencies that have ever been created eventually hit this point. Either they have in the past, or they will sometime in the future.

Are wages going to keep up with hyperinflation? They never have in the past. Those who produce goods are always one step ahead of consumers (the average working man) as prices skyrocket.

Even that would be quite a disaster to prep for. It's about the best case though, as I pointed out. I *wish* that was all we had to worry about.

I don't think there will be an economic collapse. All of those economic numbers are based on imaginary money. There is no value to our money. It is literally a figment of a banker's imagination. I would guess they can think of a way to make the numbers work. But I do think a war is likely.
