  • First of all, let me remind you that I was "persona non grata" (an unwelcome person) on Fisheaters, which many of us used to frequent.

I posted the same kinds of posts that I post here -- I wasn't rough or impolite, but I also didn't mince words. I defended Tradtiional Catholic teaching on everything from modesty to family to television.

But I got a reputation for being "mean" or something along those lines, because I said that truth is objective. Even though I never got personal about anything, people took my statements of truth personally.

Long story short, I acquired a vague "negative" reputation among many on the board -- people disliked me -- and eventually I was banned for no particular reason. The moderator never posted a quote from me and said, "See this? Need I say more?" as she answered questions about why I was banned.

However, she did make vague references to "many posts" that brought her to that decision. She never pointed out those posts (for good reason! a lot of people would have defended me) and I never had a chance to defend myself or anything. Two words: NOT FAIR.

I will not be unfair in the same way. Even though, humanly and psychologically speaking, it would be fun for me to be the bully for once, having been bullied in the past. Fortunately, I understand this, so I can fight against the temptation.

If someone is to be banned here, I have to see CLEARLY what they did wrong. There needs to be rudeness, particularly to the moderator (the only way I can know for sure that they won't "live in peace", because fighting with other members is just good argument)

I use the same strict guidelines that the Church uses for separation in a marriage. The man can be gruff, he can be a jerk, but if he will consent to live peacefully in the house, then the Church doesn't recommend that the couple separate (live in two different locations, though they are still married).

Both people I banned just got RIDICULOUS and they clearly wouldn't live in peace here. One of them just unleashed a volley at me as if he was TRYING to go out with a bang. That one was a no-brainer. The other one was a man named "radical priest" who was ordained in "the church of divine man" and was from California -- he was a new age weirdo, and clearly didn't belong here.

Moral of the story: If you think someone should be banned, I want EVIDENCE of why you think that. I don't want some vague feeling about this person -- I want to know exactly what blasphemy they've spouted.

  • Oh, and if you think that someone's views go against the Church, I want to see evidence of that as well!

Some people might be surprised that some issues the world considers a "no brainer" are not even true, according to the Church.

To pick a random example: the position of women in society. The world says, "Like duh!... men and women are interchangeable!" and the Church says, "Not even maybe."

The modern world does NOT have the mind of the Church, or of Christ. Keep that in mind.

  • I think there needs to be more care for posting in the apporpriate subfora and threads. Sometimes something from one subforum or one thread spills into another.
