  • Another member recently asked me if I could explain how to create an avatar. I know I've seen a few others here ask the same. This is the way I usually do it. I tried to make it as simple as possible, but if you're confused anywhere, please ask and I'm sure I or many others here will be willing to help

Sure, I will try to explain how I do it, exactly, and hopefully it helps. If it works, perhaps we can post this for other users :) Again, I'm going to show you exactly how I do it, so that you can mimic the steps, only with your own picture.

The first thing we need to do is find the image we want to use. I'm going to assume it is not one used on your computer already, but somewhere on the internet. I was looking for a picture of St. Charbel.

    1. Go to google.com
    2. At the top click, "Images"
    3. Type in what image you're looking for. (for me, I typed in the words, St Charbel. )
    4. Once you find the image you like, click on it (this will open a new screen, with the image sitting in the foreground of the webpage you just opened.
    5. "Right Click" on the image, and select "Copy Image URL"

Okay, now go back to Cathinfo.com and log on as you normally would.

    1. Towards the top 1/3 of the screen, click the button titled, "Control Panel".
2.Now there are new buttons that popped up. Click the one called, "Edit Avatar"
    3. Next, look to the section, where it states, "Specify a URL for your avatar".
    4. "Right Click" in the area where you would normally type,
    5. Select the "Paste" button.
    6. Select the "Submit" button

If you want to get 'technical' and the size of the picture is too small, or skewed, then do this:

    1. In the same section as above, "Edit Avatar", look to the left.
    2. You will see your new Avatar, and just below it, Width and Height  options.
    3. Play around with these until the image looks "right" to you.
    4. Click Submit.

    Done!

    Hope this helps!

  • I tried it, but when I tried to copy it the option I got was "copy" and not Copy Image URL. So I pressed copy and when I went to edit avatar, there was nothing to paste. Am I doing something wrong?
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

I think "copy shortcut" is what you'd click.

Another option would be to save the picture to your PC and then upload it to CathInfo.
