  • Where do Latin Mass communities go on Ash Wednesday for ashes? A friend made the mistake and went to a NO parish. There was no priest so a couple of women were distributing the ashes. Assumed the priest was out on the town on a date because it's Valentines. He walked out, without the ashes. This is a new Catholic.

In the SSPX if we could not receive ashes on Ash Wednesday, the priest distributed them the following Sunday for all those who did not get them earlier in the week.
I would say you just wait untill your priest comes by on Sunday and receive them at that time.
Many people say "For the Honor and Glory of God!" but, what they should say is "For the Love, Glory and Honor of God". - Fr. Paul of Moll

  • Last year a NO friend thought he was doing us a favor by bringing us a little ziplock baggie of ashes that were distributed at his parish so you could 'do-it-yourself'.  We just gave it to a trad priest to dispose of properly, just in case. He seemed bemused.
