  • In your kindness, please pray for him and his family.

He died at his home in Nevada, just west of Las Vegas.

    He was only 72.

Art Bell became a Catholic after meeting the Filipino Catholic lady who would become his wife.
    Lord have mercy.

  • Art Bell became a Catholic after meeting the Filipino Catholic lady who would become his wife.

Last two of his four wives were Filipinas.

As an aside, I am reminded of Presidnet McKinley's ignorant/idiotic proclamation, "that there was nothing left for us to do but to take them all, and to educate the Filipinos, and uplift and civilize and Christianize them, and by God's grace do the very best we could by them, as our fellow-men for whom Christ also died."

  • He died at his home in Nevada, just west of Las Vegas.

Apparently still--or back again--in Pahrump [†] (Nye Co.).

Art Bell became a Catholic after meeting the Filipino Catholic lady who would become his wife.

If he was lucid to the last, I wonder: What did he think about dying on a Friday the 13th?   A devout traditional Catholic would be expected to dismiss the date as "mere superstition" of no importance.  But it's my impression that he was Novus Ordo, which among other drawbacks, would've deprived his soul of genuine Extreme Unction.

I have no doubt that many of his fans, holders of perhaps the widest assortment of religious and not-quite-religious beliefs in any radio fan-base, would've thought Friday the 13th highly appropriate to Art's focus on paranormal topics over his years as founding (later principal, then occasional) host of Coast-to-Coast A.M..

Note †: Pahrump in Nye Co., Nev. <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pahrump#Art_Bell>.   From which interested readers can trivially reach his bio according to Wikipedia.

Supposedly, Art Bell had a devotion to Our Lady of Fatima who appeared to the children on the 13th of the month.

  • I didn't know that Art Bell was Catholic. I only listened to a few of his radio programs.

He interviewed Fr. (Bp.?) Malachi Martin a handful of times. For example:

At least he, like Alex Jones, isn't opposed to Our Lady of Fatima, like Stephen Hawking was opposed to God with his atheism.

If ever there was ever a purveyor of mass media pagan cosmology...

    it was Art Bell

  • So, I have to ask ...

What is it with Filipina girls that they're willing to marry almost anything that comes along?  Art Bell is, of course, relatively wealthy.  But lots of these girls will marry unattractive nobodies.  I've known a few Trad men who have married Filipina girls.  Is life so hard in the Philippines that they're that desperate to get out?

Ladislaus, I have greatly admired so many of your contributions on this forum, but I strongly suspect this is one that in due time you will regret (at least to some extent) having made.

Aside from the fact that many "Filipina girls" are actually Filipina women, the question that you pose is.....how shall we say....a bit of a biased generalization, is it not?  One could just as easily say and perhaps be much more spot on:  "What is it with American girls that they're willing to marry almost anything that comes along?"  Yup, take a good look around.  American men are often deserving of being called boys rather than men and those that are more deserving of being called men are often a fairly pathetic excuse for real men.  They are so often largely given over to the world, the flesh, and the devil, living their lives in a continual non-stop state of objective mortal sin.  (Contraception, pornography,  and sloth among a litany of other evils ring any bells?)

Yes, I also have known a few Trad men (not boys and they were real decent men)  who have married Filipina girls or rather women.
Let's pull a word switch and ask is life so hard in America that these American men are that desperate to marry an Asian girl or rather woman.  In a good number of instances it would certainly seem so -- at least in the eyes of some fairly decent traditional Catholic American men who are more interested in saving their souls than saving their human respect from being subjected to the contempt (open or hidden) of some of their fellow Americans, even some of their fellow traditional Catholics.  I think it would be fair to say that they are often eager to marry a woman from a society/culture with a seemingly saner environment than our own, from a society/culture that doesn't produce emasculated men and anti-male feminized  women en masse, not to mention an ever increasing number of sodomites, lesbians, transgenders, general freaks, etc.

I remember once seeing what appeared to be reliable stats that indicated the divorce rate is actually lower among American men who marry Asian women than among American men who marry American women.  Seems like both the guys and gals in the former case are on to something!

P.S. I remember you mentioning from one of your former posts that you are married to a beautiful woman.  I don't remember you mentioning whether you yourself were handsome, talented, or wealthy, but whatever the case may be I wish both of you all God's blessings! :)
