  • I have multiple sclerosis so I am no barometer, but I have noticed lately that I feel sooo exhausted. And, others that I speak to have such a hard time even waking up. Even young people. And, it has been so blah in the weather here. No blue in the sky just dingy gray. And in the meantime the days just whizz by.
What is that line from Star Wars?Luke, there is a disturbance in the force??

  • Dawn,

I have multiple sclerosis too. Though, at the moment I'm not too bad with it. There were a few months earlier in the year where I was struggling to walk by the end of each day! I needed a shot, or three, of methyl prednisolone. That helped. But, still, if I exert myself, or stand for too long, I do get a bit wibbly!

Variable, really. I have it pretty mild, generally.

    Clare.

  • My whole family has a bad cold right now (and we live in Texas where it's 72 degrees for a high!)

    Does that count?

  • No wanting to do pop-medicine, but there is a direct correlation between light exposure (sun) and good health and mood.

These behing the shortest day of the year, it certainly is not a negligeable factor. Good thing is, the days are starting to get longer now, and not shorter.

  • Well, I must say I haven't been getting outside as much lately, as I've been very busy with Christmas, etc.

Normally I'm outside for at least 45 min. every day for gardening tasks.

On sunny days the whole main room is bathed in sunlight though -- it's free heating and free light. The natural way is always best!

  • Have any of you considered consulting a homeopath? They often get heaped in with the looneys but are actually very good and inexpensive. The remedies are particularly inexpensive. Many people in our Parish swear by them, including our family.

  • Oh no, he puts up a fight in the bath at the best of times! It takes two of us to bath him! He's 15 months old.

  • My son used to like baths. Now he flails about screaming!

Yes, he's plastered with calamine cream!

I'll try the baking soda idea too though.

    Thanks Trinity.

  • I do know that I sometimes catch myself thinking, "I give up, I am so tired and sick from this disease and so beyond frustrated with my financial problems. I could care less what anyone does or says." But, then I remember that is not Catholic my dear, and I really do think of Christ carrying the Cross and falling and GETTING BACK UP His Body in more pain than I could ever know of. Plus, I am such a sharp-tongued Sicilian-German I deserve it.
