  • Only when I'm not "being" one, though at least as frequently is the shame felt when some others do.

That expression is a red flag to me that you are new to real Catholicism. And your OP further confirms my  observation.

  • I am out loud and proud about my Catholicism.

The only time I am ever ashamed is if some non-Catholics associate me with the flat-earthers who claim that FE is church dogma. Apart from that, never.

  • Nope.  But I've never had a stranger enquire.  If someone brought up the NO shenanigans I would try to explain to them the difference between the true faith and what we see displayed by the current occupants of the Vatican.

With God's grace, never ashamed, however since I don't equate Vatican II as Catholic, I am not embarrassed by it.

There are times when I must voice an explanation what they hear out of the present day so-called "pope" is a scandal to them, I remind them that it's in the Bible, and I lead them to "Let no man deceive you by any means, for unless there come a revolt first." [2 Thessalonians 2:3]  Next I explain that this should prove the Catholic church is THE Church since the prophecy has been fulfilled concerning the Vatican, however, the Church still exists, except it is smaller now.  Then ask them to to turn to Luke 18:8 " yet the Son of man, when He cometh, shall He find, think you, faith on earth?"
    Please pray for my soul.

You might want to rethink your rallying cry, seeing as how that is the sodomites rallying cry...
    .
    Just sayin'...
And you think FE'ers are embarrassing. I think a globetard using a fαɢɢօt's rallying cry is embarrassing.

It's no credit to me that I had the grace, through the faithfulness of my parents, to be baptised Catholic, which opened to me the path to Heaven. How on earth could I be either proud or ashamed? Merely eternally grateful.

Pardon me, but heresy is not Catholic. You are very confused.

Mor into Jesus? What does that mean?

I chose it deliberately to see which numpty would take the bait - lo & behold you didn't let me down.
The more important point I'm trying to make is that I won't be told that any phraseology from the English language is out of bounds to me simply because it has been appropriated - no matter who is doing the appropriating.

  • I have never denied that I am a Catholic. Once many years ago, 1971 we were asked "Who are the Catholics in the room?" I raised my hand. The person sitting next to me fell on the floor screaming because he was seated next to a non Protestant.

  • I have been asked directly, once, if I was Catholic. The person was 'Catholic' and had seen the crucifix I wear with a St. Benedict medal. I have visited her NO parish a few times. She hasnt spoken with me since. Must not have liked my veil(?)

Good for you! And don't worry about flat-earthers, they're just a fad enjoying their flash in the pan.

These flat-earthers are overly scrupulous only when it applies to their golden-calf false idol which they worship against all evidence.
