mmmm, that sounds very familiar to the sermon I heard today....
Some say that all authorities are appointed by God. Does this include the Antichrist? How about people like Nancy Peℓσѕι? Obama? etc. In other words, people who support things like abortion, ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity, etc. Can we say that 100% of authorities that have been appointed are of God? I don't believe so. What do you think?

We owe them the appropriate obedience in all things with the exception of sin.
Saint John Eudes wrote in "The Priest, His Dignity and Obligations": “The most evident mark of God’s anger and the most terrible castigation He can inflict upon the world are manifested when He permits His people to fall into the hands of clergy who are priests more in name than in deed, priests who practice the cruelty of ravening wolves rather than charity and affection of devoted shepherds ... “When God permits such things, it is a very positive proof that He is thoroughly angry with His people, and is visiting His most dreadful anger upon them. That is why He cries unceasingly to Christians, ‘Return O ye revolting children ... and I will give you pastors according to My own heart’. (Jer. 3:14,15) Thus, irregularities in the lives of priests constitute a scourge upon the people in consequence of sin.”
bowler spelled something out yesterday pertaining to this:QuoteSaint John Eudes wrote in "The Priest, His Dignity and Obligations": “The most evident mark of God’s anger and the most terrible castigation He can inflict upon the world are manifested when He permits His people to fall into the hands of clergy who are priests more in name than in deed, priests who practice the cruelty of ravening wolves rather than charity and affection of devoted shepherds ... “When God permits such things, it is a very positive proof that He is thoroughly angry with His people, and is visiting His most dreadful anger upon them. We owe them the appropriate obedience in all things with the exception of sin. What if they weren't legitimately elected? As in a rigged election or they maintained power illegally? Something like this might be similar to an Anti-Pope where someone rises to power and shouldn't be there. Were Anti-Popes appointed by God? I think not. So when we say that all authorities are appointed by God then I would think that there are some circuмstances there. Some people cheat their way into power. That can't be of God.I guess I find it hard sometimes because some people in power represent some really bad things. Why would God appoint them? I find it hard to believe, but it could be true.
