  • The Archbishop of Portland Oregon, John G. Vlazny tells the children of the SSPX that they are not welcomed at the RC challenge. Roman Catholic (RC) Challenge,  is an exciting, fast paced, Jeopardy style quiz game that pits young Catholics in grades 5 through 12 against similar teams responding with questions about their faith.

I'm sure that if heretical & schismatic Eastern Orthodox, or Protestant children wanted to participate, that they would be welcomed with open arms and much media fanfare. And yet the Catholics from the SSPX are barred?

See video for full article in the sermon:

  • Perhaps he is simply afraid the SSPX children would clean up and make toe other kids look bad when the can't successfully enumerate the seven sacraments.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

    Maybe.

But if the quiz touched too heavily on the Novus Ordo's pet subjects, maybe the SSPX affiliated children would not have cleaned up, due to giving  the "wrong" answers.

They might also have scandalized the Novus kids with their "narrow" views and "judgemental" attitudes. Remember many Novuses believe it is peace and salvation to all - not peace to men of good will, and that only the just will be saved throgh God's mercy.

Anyway for many reasons it may have worked out best for the SSPX kids that they won't be participating.

I think the moral of the story is, is that this wanna be bishop is the one who is scandalizing. He singled out the SSPX youth directly, from participating in these games. The only thing he would have been worried about would be his flock seeing formed Catholic children.

  • Do the SSPX kids think that Bp Fellay has already signed the deal with Rome?

  • Not at all Francisco. That's not the point.

The point was, was that this conciliar bishop strictly segregated the SSPX youth from participating in a sort of quiz game, which I believe would have been based on Church Teachings if I'm not mistaken.
