  • I read this, I *think* here on CI, anyone remember a thread, or more likely a post that pointed out that April Fool's was actually a diabolical mocking of Christ somehow??

I didn't understand that at the time, but wanted to see if this was fairly common knowledge and could explain how or anyone remembers that post/thread.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Yeah, it is a diabolical holiday and I refuse to take part in it. Just think about it... the devil is the master of mockery, the ape of God.

He enjoys playing jokes or tricks on people (note: Halloween) and the whole April Fools day (hmm... is that low blow to Easter which falls in April many times?). Its just another secular tradition which makes a farce of having any sort of religious traditions and its all because the people of the world have lost any semblance of their sensus catholicus.

  • Your latter point was what I remember, that April 1 being the first day of April, the month of Easter (the resurrection) that it was the Enemy mocking Our Lord, the 'april fool'. Was hoping to find who brought this up to see if they had sources or something, as I have never heard of it and wondered if this was likely or provable or just some misguided, gloomy neo-Jansenism.
