  • I'm looking for it, thought someone might have it handy.

In some of his lectures he seems to hold Cardinal Ratzinger in high regard however i read recently that in his resignation from Una Voce in 2007 he said that  Ratzinger was just stringing him along.

  • So many people whether learned or not suffer from this delusion that Rome is on the verge of turning things around and they base this notion on a few superficial tinkerings that some trads lap up gustily. The magnetic pull of Rome for some people overides the evidence in front of their eyes and so many will go to their grave as victims of a misplaced Catholic herd instinct.

  • Obviously, he was an important layman in the movement and disliked internal injustice. I remember him resigning from the Latin Mass Society (UK) when it was having a purge of SSPX-friendly members. But one had the feeling he never wanted to stray too far from modern Rome.

Exceedingly well said, Wessex!  Rome does have a magnetic pull which trumps all evidence.  I will have to think about that further as I have been victim of it.
