  • I am becoming famished for some good news---like signs of Our Lady's triumph or the return of Christ.  Outside of Dawn's Granny and Carolus' awakening, I haven't heard good news in a long, long time.   :read-paper:

  • The ones you mentioned are not too shabby, though, eh?  Besides, in the days (not far?) ahead, we will likely experience the truth of these words from the pen of Chesterton (via the lips of Our Lady in The Ballad of the White Horse):

"I tell you naught for your comfort,
    Yea, naught for your desire,
Save that the sky grows darker yet,
    And the sea rises higher."

    Courage, love - courage.
"Fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is all man."

  •          I was afraid of that---still, I'll take any crumb I can get.  And I am thinking we are nearing the end, the day when antichrist steps forward.  In another year we will be the north american union with the asian union somewhere in the making.  Once the ten kingdoms are established all systems are go.  Anyone know the timetable?

No, that certainly isn't too shabby.  But I think it whetted my appetite for more.  Anty thinks some of the liberal talking heads are waking up to the monster they helped create.  That would be nice.

  • I have some good news. I checked out through my university interlibrary loan system a TAN book called The Sermons of St. Alphonsus Liguori for All the Sundays of the Year. The sermons I have from it are excellent. You cannot go wrong with St. Alphonsus Liguori, I say.

"Non nobis, Domine, non nobis; sed nomini tuo da gloriam..." (Ps. 113:9)

  • Keep it coming, Keph.  If we can't see sunshine in the future, let's enjoy it from the past.

  • I agree with Trinity, better to go to the glorious past, because days just keep getting darker and darker with no sign of letting up.
Everything just keeps getting worse, the vatican more and mroe heretical [if that is possible], the news more and more immoral and sickening, TV to where it is not permissible to even turn the thing on, book stores selling crap, and just about everything else just keeps getting worse. The storm just keeps brewing bigger and darker with every day.

St. Alphonsus wrote some of the greatest works on spirituality in existence.

  • Anyone else getting the feeling that we might as well just hunker down?  I found Liguori's sermons on the net.  They are good.  I have a book of the Cure de Arse' (St. John Vianney) sermons.  Also very good.

I have been thinking about a bunker lately...could hunker down in it.  :roll-laugh1:

  • I don't have a bunker, but if I ever hear about nukes being used (not heading this way, just being used AT ALL, e.g. in Iran) I will go in my backyard and start digging a trench shelter. All you need is a few doors (you can use the ones in your house) and I have a few that people were throwing away, stored behind my shed.

I learned a lot of useful information from the site below -- but of course its main purpose is to help people survive a nuclear attack. By the way, it's VERY easy to do. Very few people would be killed by the fireball itself -- many more would die slow and painful deaths from radiation exposure, because they wouldn't know what to do.

This site tells how 2 healthy people can dig a 4-foot deep trench, several feet long, with doors for a roof (covered with earth) in ONLY 48 HOURS. Your shelter can be bigger/nicer depending on how much warning you have.

  • Funny that a thread looking for good news ends up in instructions building emergency trenches.  I said funny, but meant pityfull.

My son just started football and he likes it alot.  That's all the good news I need.

  • Hey, my instructions WERE about good news.

"You can survive a nuclear attack -- a nuclear attack doesn't mean that everyone will die."

And the fact that anyone with a couple shovels can build the shelter that will save them -- that sounds like good news to me!
