As many of you know, I am managing an independent chapel near San Antonio Texas. We have weekly Mass with Fr. Zendejas and Fr. Garcia.
Despite the fact we have a building, weekly Mass, etc. we're actually way behind in terms of parishioners and monetary support. My own family is already maxed out on what we can afford to donate to the chapel.
I'd like my son (age 9) to start learning how to serve Mass, but all my server cassocks (Age 17 -- 58") are sized for me, since I acquired them when I was a seminarian. My son will eventually be taller than me, but not yet :)
Catholic Supply of St. Louis has a Toomey server cassock for a little over $65 shipped.
A couple months ago, I bought a couple altar-boy-sized surplices -- so we're good to go for surplices.
We just bought a large A/C unit for the chapel (Texas is a hot place), installation, electric work to put in outlets, 2 concrete sidewalk slabs, and a bunch of other things. We're basically spent out for a while. We're trying to make the chapel as suitable for Mass as possible -- we're doing everything we can with our very limited means (speaking of which, if you have any need for a computer programmer -- let me know!).
I know many Trads are strapped for cash, so if that describes you, please disregard this post. I'm not looking to ask anyone who's already struggling. I'm just putting this out there, in case someone has the means, and would like the help further the cause of Traditional Mass chapels sticking to Tradition 100% with no compromises OR cult-like behavior.
If you're interested in helping (any amount is fine), please PM or e-mail me (matthew at cathinfo.com). I have a Paypal account, etc.
God bless,
Matthew
