  • I was wondering if any one could recommend a good reference work about the AntiChrist in the writings of the early Fathers and Saints.

"Never will anyone who says his Rosary every day become a formal heretic ... This is a statement I would sign in my blood." St. Montfort, Secret of the Rosary. I support the FSSP, the SSPX and other priests who work for the restoration of doctrinal orthodoxy and liturgical orthopraxis in the Church. I accept Vatican II if interpreted in the light of Tradition and canonisations as an infallible declaration that a person is in Heaven. Sedevacantism is schismatic and Ecclesiavacantism is heretical.

  • Well, I don't know of a book that deals solely with the Antichrist in the writings of the Church Fathers and Saints, but the following book (which I haven't read) supposedly draws from the writings of the early Fathers:

The Antichrist by Father Vincent Miceli, S.J.
"The Catholic Church is the only thing which saves a man from the degrading slavery of being a child of his age."--G. K. Chesterton

  • Anti Christ is mentioned in Chapter 12 of Daniel, that the continual sacrifice will come to an end.

I would recommend "The End of the Present World, and the Mysteries of the Future Life"; Father Charles Arminjon

"Reading this book was one of the greatest graces of my life"   St. Therese of Lisieux

My understanding is that this book was originally written in French, then disappeared for a very long time, until it was re-discovered and then translated in other languages and republished.  Deo Gratias for that!

Nishant, I have read the book "End of the Present World and the Mysteries of the Future Life", by Fr. Charles Arminjon.  I don't want to give anything away, suffice to say it is very edifying, and I highly recommend.  Here is a little description:

"Let the pages of The End of the Present World and the Mysteries of the Future Life fill you with the same burning words of love, with the same ardent desire to know God above all created things, that St. Thérèse gained from them.  Let them also enrich your understanding of certain teachings of the Faith that can often seem so mysterious, even frightening: The signs that will precede the world’s end, the coming of the Antichrist, and how to recognize him, The Judgment and where it may send us: heaven, hell, and purgatory.  Biblical end-times prophecy: how to read it and not be deceived. Jesus commands us to be ever-watchful for his return, and ever-mindful that we have no lasting city on earth.

I read that some years ago, but was not particularly edified.  It may well be that I was too stupid to get it.  For some reason I seem to remember he was soft on Tradition or something.

The other book sounds so much better.
