  • Greetings in Christ.

I came across this last night.  It would seem that the Bishop of Juneau, Alaska, is set to demolish the diocesan Cathedral, built in 1910.  His reasoning?  "There are simply too many deficiencies."; "some were pastoral and some were liturgical".

The article (with photo, I'm guessing from the 20's or 30's  can be found here):

I trust it was a slip of His Excellency's pen when he said that some would be saddened because of memories of "holiday celebrations" at the Cathedral.

    Peace be with you.

    Christopher

  • This would be an excellent opportunity for the Society of St. Pius X to act.  They should buy the cathedral!
