  • I had an interesting dream last night. In my dream there was a male politician who was possessed by devils. I could tell by looking at his eyes. In the dream I prayed for the man that he would be freed from the devils and be converted to the Catholic faith. After I prayed for him I was watching him and I said that he would either die or be converted and then the politician was freed from the devils and converted and professed the Catholic faith. I wish my prayers would be as powerful in real life as they were in my dream. I pray all the time and my family members are not converted. And I have been praying for a private intention for over a year and it hasn't been granted. But I was glad to have the dream.

Please pray for the repose of my soul.

The Lord is still offering them the graces to be converted. Your prayers matter. It's up to the people for whom you pray to accept the graces and act on it. There is no guarantee. People have free will. God offers them the grace. You will be blessed for praying for them.
Blessed be the Lord my God, who teacheth my hands to fight, and my fingers to war. ~ Psalms 143:1 (Douay-Rheims)

  • Matto, did you convert from the NO, or was it from another religion? Regardless, your family will be in my prayers.

I grew up in the Novus Ordo but fell away for a long time after my confirmation. Eventually I found out about traditional Catholicism on the internet and went to a few SSPX Masses. Strange things happened that scared me away for a while, then I went to the Novus Ordo for about a year, then I went back to the SSPX where I am now. My conversion process started in 2007 and 2008 when I tried to learn Latin and started learning prayers in Latin. I never did learn Latin though. My family is Novus Ordo. My mother goes to Novus Ordo Masses. My father and brother do not go to Mass regularly. My parents are typical New York liberals. My brother is more conservative but he still does not have the faith. I appreciate any prayers from my fellow traditional Catholics. Thank you.

  • I just wanted to say something about my prayers. I believe I have received many graces from my prayers. I have noticed that the more I pray the less I sin. But sadly my prayers have not led to my family's conversion yet.

I feel I am very lucky. I have received so many graces for myself since my conversion. It is amazing really. Hopefully the conversion of my family in time is another grace I hope to receive.

  • I think your dream was giving you the answer to your prayers being heard.

Not sure if any of you subscribe to the publication known as The Four Marks, and I am also not sure that the Nov. issue will have an article that I sent them about the secret of having your prayers answered.  Editor said it would be published soon, but I don't know when.

I wish I could publish it here but that would be against the rules of the publication, but the bottom line was in order to have your prayers answered for your loved ones, since God is not bound by space nor time, think of the Last Supper the First Mass how Jesus changed bread and wine into His Body and Blood, before His death and crucifixion, before the Great Sacrifice took place in time.  It is God's Will if you want Him to hear your prayers you MUST pray for your enemies, those people who you dislike because He died for them as well as dying for you.   Your dream was hinting of that, you prayed for a person who apparently you did not care for.

    Please pray for my soul.

  • I had another dream last night that I thought was interesting. In my dream I was attacked by men who were beating me mercilessly. I believe they were devils. I was surrounded by these men and I said "I believe in devils" and then they came upon me and started beating me savagely. I covered my face and my private parts with my hands to protect them from the beatings. I realized then that God was protecting me and not allowing the men who I thought were devils to beat me as savagely as they wanted to. After a long time the beatings stopped and I awoke.
I have been having a lot of religious dreams lately and in all of those dreams I am aware of the fact that I am a traditional Catholic and in the dreams I believe in God as I do when I am awake.

Matto, I'm a convert like yourself (although from nominal Protestantism and not the NO) and have parents and a brother whose souls I am worried about and whose conversion I regularly pray for. There are a couple things that give me hope. The greatest source of hope for me is one of the 15 promises Our Lady made to those who pray the Rosary: "You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the rosary." I always pray one decade for the conversion of my relatives and strongly believe that if I persevere in this devotion, then the graces will be obtained. Another thing that gives me hope is the words of Our Lord: "Because I go to the Father: and whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, that will I do: that the Father may be glorified in the Son" (St. John 14:13). During Mass I always offer the Eternal Father the sacrifice of His Son, and in His name and through His infinite merits I ask for the conversion of those dear to me. Additionally, I like the story of St. Monica preserving in prayer for Augustine and I like the story of St. Therese praying and sacrificing for the conversion of the man on death row, Pranzini.

I think I remember you once posting that you are in your mid twenties. Are you considering becoming a religious brother or a priest? I myself am that age and am seriously considering becoming a religious. I think that if I do so and actually try to live as a religious should, then my prayers will carry more weight with God. There are the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the religious communities affiliated with the SSPX to always consider.
"The Blessed Eucharist means nothing to a man who thinks other people can get along without It. The Blessed Eucharist means nothing to a communicant who thinks he needs It but someone else does not. The Blessed Eucharist means nothing to a communicant who offers others any charity ahead of this Charity of the Bread of Life." -Fr. Leonard Feeney, Bread of Life

I am a little older than that. I am in my mid thirties. I know that I cannot become a priest or religious because I have infirmities that would make it impossible for me to be a priest or religious. But I do pray a lot, especially for the last four months after I read the Biography of the Cure of Ars which inspired me to give up my sinful habits and to try to stop offending God. Sometimes my prayers seem to be powerful as I have received some great graces which may have been because of my prayers. Indeed I have received some wonderful graces starting with my conversion which began around 2008 or 2009. But other of my prayers have not yet been answered, especially the conversion of my family. One thing about my dreams that I think is interesting is that recently in my dreams I have always been a traditional Catholic even in my dreams. Even in my bad dreams I sometimes have in which I commit sins in the dreams I always realize I am sinning and have remorse in the dream for offending God.

I would probably benefit greatly from visiting a traditional Catholic monastery perhaps on a retreat or for a visit for a week or so and live the life of a monk for a little while.

  • 62myer/ sspx15 is banned from Cathinfo. I was looking for his blog about his dreams and I couldn't find it because he deleted his blog. I really wanted to read it. Oh well. But it inspired me to start my own blog about my dreams today. So I started by posting the dreams I posted about on Cathinfo and now I will add my new dreams when I remember them if they are interesting. I don't expect anyone to read my blog but it is there so that I will remember them. I feel bad that 62myer deleted his dream blog. I really wanted to read about his prophetic dreams again.

  • Make sure that you share your dreams with your confessor so as not to be influenced subtly by the devil.

I don't know if I could do that in my situation. I mean if I had the time to talk to him and get spiritual direction I would certainly talk to him about my dreams, but as it is at my chapel we only have a few minutes to confess our sins as quickly as possible so that all of us can get to confession before Mass starts so I don't think it would be right to spend a lot of time discussing my dreams with him because it would cause other members of my chapel to not be able to go to confession or receive communion.

  • Makes sense. Most important to confess sins.
