This notion of seeing everything in black or white seems to plague us today. Protestants get stuck with digital on off thinking - you are either saved or not saved. Catholics get stuck in the dogma quagmire. Dogma is when you hardwire something in a fixed state.

There is nothing racist about a peoples superiority over another! The Lion is stronger than the Cat. The Cedar is taller than the Oak! The Spanish were stronger than the Aztecs. What would have happened if Spain had kept to themselves and left the Aztecs alone "because we are all equal in God's eyes"? The Aztecs would have continued to kill and eat each other and worship the devil had not the Spanish (with the help of Our Holy Mother) invaded and put the entire Aztec and Mayan nations under their (and her's) heals. There would be no such thing as Mexico today if the Spanish did not act as a mentor and a model nation to help the Aztecs advance in civilization and give them the faith. But then why bother helping them advance if all peoples are equal? Europeans are the Elder Bretheren in the faith because it is to us that the faith was first given. As the Elder Brothers of men by our membership in the Church of Christ it is our job to help our younger brothers/nations grow up to be worthy of the Kindom of Heaven which they are meant to inherit.

Which is one of the reasons Im holding on to my Spanish heritage. My ancestors began a God given job here in America, to help our little Aztec brothers, and that job is not yet finished.

Just take people as you find them. People are individuals, and even though one race may, in general, be superior to another, in general, does not mean that this individual of this race is superior to that individual of that race.

Sounds like a sound and logical view. On the other hand when Big Brother comes to put a micro chip in you so that you can be controlled like cattle, don't forget who set the precedent. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

The idea of a particular group of people being 'cursed' is biblical. So the idea isn't all that far fetched. She did not say that they're cursed because they're black, rather she said that they're black becaused they're cursed. That's not racism, that's pointing out a fact, whether right or wrong.

Well, it is individuals that we deal with in every day life, rather than generalisations of people.

How else is all the information in this thread meant to be applied? If blacks are in general inferior, how should I apply that knowledge in my daily life, as a Catholic?

Am I to tell the next black person I meet that he is cursed, because of his being descended from Ham/Cham, and treat him accordingly?

The history of the way Catholics treated Blacks in America is appalling
. From the comments, racism is alive and well. I was trying to point out that the Catholic spiritual compass has been off for a long time. That is why Catholics forget the True Faith of Jesus Christ, and go running after signs and wonders, or Assisi apostasy fests.
