Maybe it's because he's conspicuously missing religion. But then again, I frequent Cryptogon and he's an agnostic.

The big difference? Cryptogon isn't a blog, it's a news aggregation. Smoking mirrors is your classic blog -- some (possibly well written) opinion of one insignificant individual. And it's certainly nothing I don't know already.

This man is NO agnostic, has quite a spiritualized perspective, and to miss "religion", as it is in the world at present, is not necessarily a strike against a man.

Making it different from other sites how?  News articles are much the same, and a site that collects them is just piling up more views than a solitary man who speaks from the only thing he knows - his own heart.  Life is not lived on the surface, nor is one, brief glance enough to accurately ascertain the value of a blog.

And it's certainly nothing I don't know already.

The guy who runs Cryptogon married a girl from New Zealand, packed up his stuff moved there, and started a successful farmlet and is living a very traditional life. He is a lucky duck. Success stories like the one above are always good to read.

He admits, though, that he'd have to make some serious cuts to his present lifestyle if he didn't have income from Cryptogon. And, that's with his in-laws nearby for support and his wife experienced in many of their farming activities. I wouldn't consider him an example to be followed unless you have a family in New Zealand ready to take you in.
