I watched this show this evening. The similarities between the Amish who have left their world and their families behind to live in the modern world and traditional Catholics that have lived under the influence of the SSPX and left, is scary. Many Catholics have separated from their own families over Tradition and the old Mass....many rifts have occurred. Many problems.

Why wouldn't they?

If people betray your deepest beliefs then you're naturally going to be angry. If my son grew up and turned out to be a child molester I'd be at the front of the queue calling for capital punishment. Not because I don't love my children, but because I hate child molesters and I also love the children the molesters abuse.

Just because a child is a stranger to me does not mean I should defend a criminal family member.

Many people would say that they would always support their kids no matter what.

Not me. In fact it is this unconditional love which allows people to divorce and remarry relatively painlessly because their parents and siblings and friends all say, never mind, and the whole experience is not one they dread or find partcicularly difficult.

I know all of that, and I agree. But we're not talking about people of different religions when we talk about NO Catholics and Trad Catholics falling away over their faith. This is the angle that I can't settle in my mind. Is the Catholic religion now a new religion? I can understand family turning on one another when there is loss of faith or joining a different religion...but Catholic against Catholic? Only if you think the Church is no longer the Church.

Well, there are two religions. There is the true Catholic religion that is upheld by Traditional Catholics, and then there is the new, so-called "Catholic" religion currently upheld by the conciliar church. This was the view of Archbishop LeFebvre, and is also the view of Bishop Williamson.

Yes, that is what Our Lady of La Salette said would happen. Of course, THE antichrist has not come yet, one could say these infiltrators in the Church today are simply paving the way for the antichrist. Even Benedict, whether he realizes it or not, is doing so.

Couldn't the antichrist be a collection (so to speak) of people...the conciliarists, or modernists that turned the church upside down?

And does it mean the gates of Hell have prevailed? I don't think so, but that is the favored and popular argument that is used to provide an explanation, and a reason why one should not to fall into sedevacantism....

According to Scripture and Prophecies, no. The antichrist will be a Jєω born in the middle-east. He will be possessed by satan and will claim to be either a Prophet or Christ Himself. Now, there will be many people before he comes that will simply pave the way for him (Obama is a prime example), but the antichrist himself will be a single man.

No, the gates of hell have not prevailed. They have certainly tried to, but they haven't. If they had, the Traditional Latin Mass would have been completely destroyed, along with Tradition itself.

Sedevacantism would not mean the gates of hell have prevailed, either. The Church can still exist without a Pontiff. Whether or not one believes Benedict is a true Pope is up to them as an indivisual and is a controversial topic.
