Oh, I tend to doubt that.  She had a crisis of faith that led her to leave the Church.  Her lesbianism, if indeed she was, was never obvious and I didn't have a clue until I read her obituary and saw the female companion listed among the survivors.  It's always possible that she wasn't lesbian and that it was simply a "Boston marriage" --- these "marriages" did not always have a sɛҳuąƖ or erotic element.  There is always such a thing as two people just being close friends.
