  • There is little real difference between Benedict and Francis. Benedict also believed that Jєωs could be saved and that we should not convert them. Benedict also believed that anyone could be saved outside of the Church and took part in ceremonies of false religions. Francis is just moving along the apostasy faster while Benedict was moving towards the same apostasy slower.

  • You're actually missing the point of this meme; this is just light-hearted humor along the lines of "Wow, this guy is so bad that it almost makes you miss his predecessor."  Or, "you thought it was bad BEFORE ...".  In essence, it's also a "damning" of his predecessor with faint praise.  Worked the same way for Bush.  Obama is so bad that it almost makes you miss Bush (who also was very bad).
