I would think that finding other like-minded homeschoolers to help would make a difference.
Yes, I could agree. For now, the only ones I know are protestant; there's a good protestant man at work whose wife homeschools his 3 children. I haven't spoken to any of the families at church who do. Only recently have I attended the SSPX chapel with the school (Arcadia). I was attending an independent chapel prior, but the priest moved up north. Perhaps with time I will meet some other families.
When our oldest was young, like 2, I started following several blogs of moms who homeschool -- perferably Catholic and even better if they're Trads. When you don't go out much (like me) and you see these families every day via their blogs, you almost start to think homeschooling is very popular and everyone is doing it!

Joking aside, following a handful of blogs in this manner not only built up confidence in my ability to homeschool, but also helped me choose what our homeschooling would attempt to look like.
