  • When I was in school, the nuns talked about the Titanic, and its anti-Catholic history.  They said, people would say that even God can't sink it:  As in the report below:

The day the Titanic sailed from Southampton, Mrs. Albert Caldwell asked a deckhand loading luggage into one of the Titanic’s cargo holds, “Is this ship really nonsinkable?”

“Yes, lady,” he replied, “God Himself couldn't sink this ship.”

Also have you heard about the message printed on the ship's hull, "No Pope"

    Quote
Not long after the disaster, in parts of Ireland and some of the larger Irish communities in the United States, the story was being told that the Titanic had been sunk in an act of Divine retribution, doomed because her very existence defied the power of God and a denied the authority of the Pope and Holy Church.  The proof, it was said, was in a cryptic anti-Catholic message hidden in her hull number, the one given to the Titanic by her builder, Harland and Wolff.  That mysterious number was 3909-04:  when written out and viewed in a mirror, the number spells out the words NO POPE–providing a certain bit of leeway is allowed with the 4.

They don't talk about these things today, but they did quite a bit when I was a youngster.

You can read different stories today on the Internet however, if you search for them.

  • Myrna, I too, read the statement, "Even God can not sink the ship" and that is pride and the pride of going a different route and to get to New York faster.  BUT I did not know about the "No Pope" on the ship.  Wow!!

  • That's a fantastic story!

Another story I heard in some Catholic place, but never anywhere else, is that there was a priest aboard who was going to NY.  He stayed on the sinking ship giving last rites, hearing confessions & generally helping people.  Sorry I don't recall his name but he went down with the ship.

  • I think that story may be in fact just a story. Remember the Federal Reserve act was passed in 1913. It was essential that before any big wars could start the US needed a central bank, so the government could transfer the wealth of the people to the military industrial complex. That tried to do it a few years before with the Aldrich bill but that was defeated. Then the Titanic was built and a lot of the richest and most influential people were invited for the trip, but it was a trap. The Titanic was made to be sunk and allow the "brotherhood" to consolidate their wealth and power in the United States.

So they launch this passenger ship with hardly any lifeboats and kaboom it allegedly hits an iceberg. Vast fortunes are lost and the following year they pass the federal reserve act and the year after that they 1914 they get a nice war going in Europe.

And they come up with a little story like some guy said God couldn't sink it if he wanted to.

I had a book that laid it all out what happened but I was never able to find which book it was in, but there was a German movie made about it that was banned.

    This might be it

  • When I was a youngster the story was very popular and spoken of, today it is on the Internet and some say it is true others say it is false.  No Internet in those days, (my days) just word of mouth.  No one denied it then.

I found this link with interesting comments from people.

One can believe or not believe whatever.

  • Still.  50 years later and according to some folks here, there was NOT a Pope any longer.

And even if the last five were true Popes they've be about as practical as a chocolate teapot.

So in a way the Freemasons got their way.  Albeit it cost them a ship.

  • Today so many deny this story and call it a myth, and why not.  The Freemasons do not want to give God any power, that he would take the side of Catholics yet!   Even the media never give credence to any stories about true miracles if they have their roots in the Catholic church.

And that is not surprising, since the media is owned by the elite.
