A Retraction Thread

  • I'm sorry if these retraction threads are getting repetitive, but I feel one is necessary. I'm not acting under the instruction of my confessor, but it feels proper.

I'm really sorry for and retract anything that I've said online on any forum that is contrary to charity or the Catholic Faith.

I can't remember everything that I've said, but I'm sure that there were a lot of idle words, rumour, arrogance, falsehood, or just plain stupid immaturity. I was just a child, literally, when I started posting on CathInfo (under a different account) "back in the day" (when Matthew's username was ChantCd, his avatar was a pic. of Bishop Williamson, and the Crisis in the Church subsection was called the Lion's Den).

In particular, I looked back at some old posts the other day and saw that I called people who physically left from MHFM possessed by the devil. I'm not sure what my intent was with that statement, but I totally retract it, as I don't have any evidence for it, etc. Nor do I wish to debate it, since I don't feel either way, etc.

I also retract, again, any support for "CM" and his views.

Also any lies or misinformation I may have spread. I've posed as a non-Catholic (or former-non-Catholic) in the past on other forums, and that is untrue. I think it was a manifestation of pride. Anyways I also remember that on another forum all the members thought I was a female so I just went along with it - not sure if that was sinful or not. I've been quite a piss-ant at times, so hopefully my posts show evidence of maturing.

Also sorry for any scorn or contempt for Western civilization or the attitude of the Church towards Christians in the far East that I may have expressed.

If I've ever expressed any scorn for my family or anyone else's I'm most sorry for this. This is really bothering me.

Also if I ever set myself up as an authority to make any definitive judgements on anything regarding the crisis, please just ignore those old posts. I don't even know anything beyond the Penny Catechism that well, so I really have no place discussing the validity of the New Mass or the papacy or lack thereof of the V2 popes, etc.

Apologies for the disjointed organization, but I can't really think of anything other than the fact that I've said things that I regret in the past on these forums and others, so please don't hold it against me. I can't remember a time when I actually had a malicious intent against anyone online (if that is possible) but I may have angered or just annoyed other people.

I have much larger problems standing in the way of my spiritual development but this just needed to get off my chest.

  • It's all good, Vladimir. I know you are of good will. A Merry and Blessed Christmas to you.

    God Bless.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • Indeed.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

  • Well done Vlad- I've done some ridiculous things on the internet forums as well.

Re: Daegus- I thought about him the other day- I hope  he's okay too.
