  • Just FYI --

Here is a quick test you can perform.

A priest belonging to a worldwide religious order goes up to give a sermon one Sunday morning. He gives the worst sermon ever, which includes racial epithets, cuss words, bullying, and more sins than you can count.

    After Mass, you decide to:

    A) Hope that it doesn't happen again
    B) All of A, plus you won't attend this priest's Masses anymore
    C) All of A and B, plus you think less of the worldwide religious order he belongs to.
    D) All of A, B and C, plus you will not attend any more Masses by priests of this worldwide religious order

  • Ok, here are the results.

First of all, the real title of this thread should be

YOU DO KNOW WHAT BEING EMOTIONAL LOOKS LIKE, RIGHT?

If you answered C or D, congratulations! You are extremely emotional individual, and objectively speaking your mind and emotions are wired like a female.

Females personalize everything. When they see that priest up there at the podium, they see the organization he represents. When they have a falling out with that priest, they toss the whole group as well.

Women go on emotion and intuition. But unfortunately that means they aren't particularly skilled at being rational, or distinguishing between the priest and the group in this example.

This is a generalization -- there are a few women who are the exception to the rule. But the handful of exceptions prove the validity of the rule.

  • As I read this, I was trying to figure out how on earth a priest at the pulpit could "bully" anyone.  Did he shove one of the altar boys and make him give him his lunch money?  I really couldn't follow the post after that because it clearly seemed to be nonsense.

In my real-life scenario, the priest decides to use his own words of consecration.  I have my family immediately get up and we leave the Church because it was not a Mass--at the time I believed the Novus Ordo was valid and the priest a real priest.

I had been seriously contemplating moving my family to the traditional Mass and decided that we would go downtown to the archdiocesan-approved TLM offered by an FSSP priest.  I also wrote the archbishop and the priest.  We attended the TLM for four weeks when I received a reply from the archbishop.  His letter was condescending and showed absolutely no concern about the validity of the Sacrament.  He was only sorry I felt bad about it.

At that time, I checked on an independent chapel where I discovered an elderly priest who was a former Benedictine until he was essentially thrown out for saying the traditional Mass.  Then, after much research, personally experiencing the apostasy that is euphemistically called "ecuмenism", I resolved to have nothing to do with the Conciliar cult until the day comes when I am convinced they have returned to the Catholic faith.

I don't think this was an emotional outburst.  But I'm not sure where Matthew would place it, either.

  • Wait a minute!  I get it!

You're trying to get the women on the forum riled up so they quit, aren't you?

  • Define racial epithet and bullying?

  • If a priest gives an unhinged sermon, I would talk to his parish priest in confidence.
