Is it true or not that Pope Saint Pius X said the pope who would be walking over the dead bodies of his saints would have the first name of "Joseph"? I read that last night but have no way of verifying it with a couple of more sources. We believe nothing is worth believing unless it can be verified by two or three other sources/witnesses as the scripture says! Can you all help?

Never heard of it. what is the source? And my rule of thumb is: if it is a waste of my time; does not help in my salvation, and another thought is there are N. O. people bringing up things in order to confuse us and if this is one of them, find out where they are coming from to ease your mind. For example: a priest was teaching a class of catechists and told them that Our Lady died naturally all wrinkled and such. I rose my hand and said, BUT, dogma is She is the Immaculate Conception and bible states that before Adam and Eve committed the Original Sin, that they would not age and etc. You would not believe, that the class was against me! Some subjects can be brought up to destroy dogmas, doctrines to the point of tossing them out.

I've never heard of "Joseph" either. And I agree with the above statements- Tensions will rise when you tell a Jєω he must convert, but you will incur wrath from the N.O. when you refute their idiocy with Traditional Catholic teaching.

Didn't ever hear of it before. As for affecting salvation there are a whole host of other things to consider even in the temperal realm since we are raising children in a world that will no doubt be shortly turned upside down because of sin. There is a lot to consider when one has children in a wicked world. A lot to prepare for as we know we have a God who will no doubt exact justice on this godless modern world. If by some chance Pope St. Pius X did really say something to prepare the faithful it is certainly worth listening to but sadly in our days such words must be highly scrutinzed since it could so easily be false.

Ummm....actually....a little more digging at that website revealed some pretty questionable stuff. Is there a way to delete this whole thing?

I posted that link. I've heard that prophecy many times before. As I explained, it doesn't necessarily mean that the pope's given name will be Joseph. It could be he takes the name Pius XIII. Either is a possibility.

“What I have seen is terrifying! Will I be the one, or will it be a successor? What is certain is that the Pope will leave Rome and, in leaving the Vatican, he will have to pass over the dead bodies of his priests! Do not tell anyone this while I am alive.”
Pope St. Pius X, during an audience for the general chapter of the Franciscan order in 1909, appeared to enter a trance. Those present remained motionless and silent. After a few moments, Pius X opened his eyes, rose from his seat, and spoke the above words.
“I have seen one of my successors, of the same name, who was fleeing over the dead bodies of his brethren. He will take refuge in some hiding place; but after a brief respite, he will die a cruel death. Respect for God has disappeared from human hearts. They wish to efface even God’s memory. This perversity is nothing less than the beginning of the last days of the world.”
Was this prophecy well-known before Vatican II? Because I smell a rat. This sounds like the false third secret of Fatima. Don't buy it at all, but am willing to be corrected. What we know is that so far it didn't happen; and it is extremely unlikely that the future Angelic Pastor will reign from Rome. But the latter, I suppose, is possible.

Two of these prophecies are attributed to the popes Pius IX and St. Pius X, but rather frustratingly no reference is made the original source of publication of these predictions.

The "Do not tell anyone this while I'm alive" provides a nice excuse, doesn't it, for why this would have appeared out of thin air later?
Why would Pius X not want this to be shared while he was alive? He mentioned in an encyclical, right after he assumed the papacy, that the Antichrist might be walking the Earth even in his time. He was not afraid of getting apocalyptic, even to the point of guessing wrong in an encyclical. He still made his point; the times were bad.
